Studios

The UTVS-Television studios at St. Cloud State University are located in Stewart Hall and include the following:

Studio 1

This studio is used for UTVS News, Husky Productions, Husky Mag, and other sports shows.

Studio 2

This space just received a virtual set and robot cameras that allows productions on a virtual set with minimum crew.

12 Editing Suites

These rooms are equipped with iMacs running Final Cut Pro 7, Avid Media Composer and Adobe Design Premium. All editors utilize shared storage via Editshare with play out from Grass Valley Summit Transmission Server using Sony’s XDCAM codec.

Central Equipment Room

Live production hardware includes Grass Valley LDX Studio cameras, K2 Summit Production and Transmission servers, Autoscript prompters, Chyron Mosiacs, Dyno Replay Controllers, and RTS Adam Intercom.Master Control Center

ENG/EFP Systems

Panasonic AC-90 and HPX200/250/370 ENG/EFP cameras with an AVCAM/P2 solid-state workflow for news and production.

Production Control 1

This control room is used by UTVS News, Back to the Movies, Monday Night Live, UTVS News en Español and other productions. The room features a Wheatstone D8 and Grass Valley Karrera 2 M/E Production Switcher.

Production Control 2

This control room is home to Husky Productions where students work Hockey, Basketball, and Football broadcasts. It features a Wheatstone D32 and Grass Valley Karrera 3 M/E Production Switcher.
