Each weekday, a dedicated student staff of approximately thirty people gets together and works from dawn until dusk to put together the live UTVS newscast that you see each evening. Below is just a tiny glimpse into what goes on during the day to prepare.

The assignment editor researches upcoming news events
and assigns reporting teams to cover the day’s news.

A reporting crew reviews an assignment and prepares to go in to
the field to acquire video for the night’s newscast.

A UTVS News staff member reviews sports video sent via our satellite
news feed. National stories are fed to our newsroom 24 hours a day,
and then used during UTVS News broadcasts.

Video and field reports are edited throughout the day for use in the newscast.
Here, a staffer logs a video tape to be edited.
